After graduating from the University of Calgary, Joy joined Greenbank Animal Hospital in 2022. Joy hails from British Columbia and grew up in Alberta. Now that she’s here, Joy looks forward to exploring beautiful Ottawa and the surrounding region. Joy has a special interest in pocket pet medicine which developed from her clinical rotations as well her personal experience. She has continued to develop her knowledge through educational courses, in-person shadowing, and independent study. Joy has certificates in Medicine and Surgery of Pet Rabbits; Rat Basics; Hamster, Mouse, and Gerbil Basics; Ferret Basics; and The Geriatric Ferret." When she's not caring for her own two rabbits, Dude and Darkness, she enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, gardening, and birdwatching. Indoors, Joy indulges her passion for reading and creative writing. Additionally, Joy is proud to be a member of VIN and holds Fear Free certification since 2022.
